According to Gartner and IDC, Hewlett Packard (HP) is now the new number one in the computer market. As such, 110,000 additional computers were delivered while their market share had been estimated at 16.3% in third quarter 2006.
Hewlett Packard holds first place ahead of its rival, Dell, who represents only 16.1% of the market. However, Dell is number one on the American market with 32% market share, while HP only has 23% of the same market.
Whether HP or Dell, both companies account for important growth and remain in constant competition. As for Chinese brand Lenovo, it holds the the third position globally with an estimated 8% of the market, followed by Acer and Toshiba.
